Taking November by Storm

Yup people, November, also known as Nation Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, is just around the corner!

Although I'm pretty certain everyone reading this post is already very familiar with exactly what NaNo is, if by any chance you're lost right now, go here to find out more and register!

Basically, it's the one month of the year that we all huddle down in the cave, and write our butts off in hopes of attaining the true honor of being able to say "I wrote 50K in one month!"

I signed up last year, and was able to report a very shameful 0 words (*hangs head in shame*)... yes 0 (don't look at me like that! ;) ).

I was all gung-ho and signed up for the first time ever, yet I didn't even go anywhere near my MS for the entire month.

Not this year--I've signed up again, and I will not be defeated!

I've estimated that I have approximately 40K left to finish this current MS. I know a lot of people tend to either start new projects for NaNo, or use the time to push forward with their current novels.

I'm not sure yet exactly what I want to do. I think I should continue with my current MS, since I've built up a really great momentum in the past week, and I'm scared that if I stop and take a break, I'll lose it.

At the same time, it seems like a great opportunity to start something new... pluck one of the ideas simmering on the back burner and bring them into the limelight.

I'll see how this week goes before I decide. I hope you'll join me next month though :)

How about you? Are you signing up for NaNo this year? Will you be starting a new project, or trying to get 50K in on your current one?

I signed up for NaNo this year! I need fifty thousand to finish my MS so I thought... what a great opportunity! I'm punching out the rest of my novel... I hope you'll do better this year and I'm so not judging you for last year.... I'm way too....procrastinator, sucumb to real life, to say ANYTHING about anyone else. Even if I could, I wouldn't because I get it.

I'm MelissaWideen on NaNo if you need a writing buddy!

I signed up for NaNo! I'm almost done on my first wip of a planned trilogy, so I'm using NaNo to start on the second while I revise the first. I look on it as getting a push on it. I had a word count challenge of 1k a day during October and I've been making that. Hopefully I can do the same for NaNo.

I'm Lindsay_adventuresinwriting on NaNo if you want another buddy. :)

Go with your current project. I signed up to complete the sequel to my book.

I didn't think I'd have 50K left on my current WIP, but now I think I might. I'd stick with your current WIP also, you seem to have really taken off with that.

Good Luck.

I fully intended to sign up but I haven't finished my current task like I had planned to. So, maybe next year. But good luck on whatever you decide!

I'm hoping you reach your goal! I have a feeling you'll be doing a lot better than last year. You also have a manuscript to finish so that should really motivate you! :)

No can do, am editing another novel & soon will be starting "new" blog!

Thanks for coming by my blog. I won't be signing up for NaNo, I am doing heavy edits with my editor at the moment. For some dumb reason Google double me on follow. I don't know how to undo that. My apologizes.

Adding 50K. WOOT! So excited! I have a leg up as far as plotting is concerned, because I know how this story ends--and how it begins.

But the middle is just as nebulous as ever. So that'll be fun.

Good luck! :)

I signed up with NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, and I can't wait. Though I've just started a new job so I'm not sure how much time I'll get to write...

Still, it's gonna be a hell of a lotta fun!
